Report by the Superintendent of Victoria Gaol.
The late Warder Reavey was admitted to Hospital on the 3rd June suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. He was discharged on the 13th June and again admitted on the 16th and died on the 19th July. His death was certified by I. Halstroke, Alcoholism Officer.
The danger of excessive use of alcohol in hot climates was pointed out to this officer, and I urged him to give up taking it in such large quantities, but apparently without effect.
The balance of pay due to him for the month of July, after deducting Messing and Cautions charges, Hospital fees...
